A River's water of thoughts

I'm not sure how to word this recommendation to read this story in such a way that I do not give away spoilers to the story.

This is a story that all fans of Snape should read. Harry becomes Snape in the sense that he becomes the cynic bastard in the aftermath of DH. he adopts everything that he knows and understands of what Snape was like.

It is brilliant in the way it was written in which Harry slowly falls into the depths of despair, apathy, cynicism, and just plain bastardness.

This is a brilliant story and I recommending for EVERYONE to read this. I don't care what pairing you support. The pairing here, if there is one, is unimportant. What matters is Harry and how becomes Snape in the way that Severus became Snape.

It gives us a grave insight into the mind and heart of Severus Snape. I understand so much more now about Snape and his relationship with Dumbledore.

Post DH, ignores Epilogue. Harry doesn’t want to end up like Snape, but it seems inevitable. Even as he dates Ginny Weasley, studies magic, plays Quidditch and argues with Malfoy, everything seems black like love unrequited.

I have to say though that the ending surprised me and threw me for a loop. I never expected it...but considering the Harry we are given here, it fits him. I may not like it, in fact I hate it (for my own personal squicky reaons), but I love it in this story.

It's a Naruto rec. Yes I am still reading the manga and the fanfictions. Though less of the fanfictions since I've become obsessed with Harry Potter for the last four years? ....god has it really been that long. I found the Snape_Potter lj group in 2006.... And before that I was reading on ff.net since 2003 on HP (before the movies came out I never heard of the series)... My god...I can't believe it's been that long...


Anyways, this is an angst driven love story like you've never seen. The chapters are LOOONG which is good since it takes so long for an update. But the writing is top notch. The writer did a previous SasuNaru story that ended up being 84 or 88 chapters long, The Uchiha Couple and spanned decades in the Naruto verse. Did I mention it was mpreg too?

This one is decidedly more different. It follows the current Naruto plot line up to a point. So pein, Madara, Hebi, etc are in here.

It wrenches my heart and it is only because I am a masochist that I keep reading it. I know it's going to be a sad ending. Like "Are You Prepared?" (I still need to read that but since I know the ending I'm putting it off) sad ending...but different...more like Romeo and Juliet but with a dash of War of the Roses...a lot of War of the Roses with a fated ending and them loving each other and it looking like there is no way to stop... It's a typical Japanese love story with the characters being bound to duty and their own convictions unable to have their love for each other stand in the way...did I mention they are on opposite sides of a war?

Holy shit, it's been so long since this story was updated that I forgot about it. I totally love this story. I so need to re-read the entire story since it's been so long but I'm jumping up and down in joy. It's an beautifully inventively written and plot filled twisting turn of a Tom Riddle/Harry Potter story. Oh yeah...slash galore. Tom Riddle is a Slytherin sex god with two boyfriends before he meets Harry.

Is it just me or do you sometimes have such an anticipation for something that you drag your heels to do it and finally realize you are acting like you don't want to do it? What I mean is, I get these updates to these stories or I buy these books that I've been waiting for ages to read and then I just don't do it. I'm not in mood for it. I can go for months even years lamenting with the book on the shelf just sitting there waiting to be read. Or I can have the update sitting in my inbox for ages until it gets buried under all the other's I put off to read...

I just find it odd and wonder if it's just me?

It's not just books it's movies as well.

So, am I just being weird?
