*scream of frustration and anger*

For those of you who follow me on twitter, you know the following:

Wednesday my power went out three times and the internet was working fine and I reloaded my ff windows and tabs perfectly fine each time.

Then at about 9:30am in the later part of a thunderstorm that gave us 7 inches of rain (pics can be found on twitter messages) and then lightening hit the local internet tower in the backyard of one of my brothers old football buddies (this is rural areas and backyard can refer to an acre or so) and it FRIED the sucker and all the eqipment. Since this is the second or third time this has happened - according to mom's buddy who recommended our isp (it's still better than all the others around) - it is a wonder that they haven't fixed the issue of better grounding it or providing a lightening rod to prevent the tower from being hit. So it wasn't until today that I got my internet back.

I went to take a nap today around 11am (I thought I had finally fixed my bad sleeping habit of staying up all night and sleeping all day - it's like I'm a fraking vampire) I woke up at 5 something pm today (I guess I haven't fixed it yet) and discovered that the net was back on.

Mom called the tech people and they tested everything to make sure it works and cancelled the work ticket to have a guy come out and look at the dish on my roof (it's how we get the internet, they send signal to tower, tower sends it to dish (which they call "radio") and that is then sent to a little box thingy that sends it to my router. The box thingy and router is what I have to frequently unplug everyonce in a while to fix router issues that prevent the internet from working and then I have to restart pc to get everything working again (it's a bitch but *shrugs* I'm not the only one who has to do it and it seems to be a common problem at the isp since it's the very first they have you test when you have a problem). FYI: Isp tech people really need to improve their communication with each other mom had to cancel order again when tech person called to make appointment about radio check.

So I get up, everythings working, but I'm not yet in the mood for the long loading of all my ff windows and tabs (I think it was 500+, most them fanfiction stories I was in the process of reading or looking at to read but there was also news, downloading sites, manga sites, and other stuff) so I just mess with IE. Problems happen I restart pc. Problems again. Restart again, everything is good to go. Then Scripps National Spelling Bee is on so I'm distracted for about two plus hours.

It wasn't until we were in the middle of watching rented movie (from local Movie Shoppe (I also have netflix but so far I'm only renting tvshows, haven't streamed anything yet) Lakeview Terrace when I try to restart my ff.

Ensue mega breakdown - and fight with parents - when realize that my windows aren't popping up. Thought the parents did something since this has happened before. Mom said that when they were doing the test that the resume window box did not pop up. My guess is that it somehow got cleared or there was a problem with ff because in the process of trying to find my sites (a combination of combing through the ctl+h sidebar plus the history library and the search bars within...it is proving to be faster...but the history will only go back 90 days) ff kept crashing on me, repeatedly.

*sighs* I think I can recover most of them except for the insanejournal fanfiction stuff I was reading. IJ still only listes the url for those who aren't paid members so it's hard to find out what it goes to and whether or not it was what you were looking for.

Still...it is now 1am and I've been at this since *goes to check twitter* for about 2 hours (I think it's closer to 2 and a half) now.

...I have since applogized to the parents...but I still think it was something they did when they were testing it.
